Dresser and Nightstand Makeover: Heirloom White

Today I wanted to show you a little makeover I did for my girls’ room in one of my favorite spray paint colors, Heirloom White by Rustoleum. It’s a perfect creamy white that looks good on just about everything.

When we first moved into our house last fall, we didn’t have any furniture for their room so I shopped Craigslist and found a dresser and nightstand. They were pretty U-G-L-Y, so we brought them home and gave them a little facelift.

This is the only “before” picture I took of the nightstand. I had my cute little helper assisting me with the hardware.

And the finished product!

…and AFTER! It’s amazing the difference a few spray paint cans and new knobs can make.

There are so many other things I wish I could do to this room. Painting the paneling and walls would be number one on my list, but we are renting and the room was just “remodeled” before we moved in – it’s off limits. But I love this color and have a pile out in my garage waiting to be “Heirloomed”! Have you painted anything with Heirloom White?

National Painting Week!

Today kicks off the start of National Painting Week! Sherwin-Williams is celebrating with some awesome projects, tips for adding a touch of style to any space in your home, and color suggestions and tools. I love this infographic they have put together.

Paint Resources

Happy Friday! Today I just wanted to share with you a couple of paint resources that can be helpful when picking out paint colors. You may have already heard of them, but if you havn’t they are worth checking out.
Have you seen the Young House Love paint colors over at Benjamin Moore? John and Sherry have chosen a great variety that I think can be helpful when picking out a color/color scheme and not knowing where to start.

If you havn’t seen the paint colors in their home, that’s another great resource – one that they are constantly updating and changing. Love these guys and can’t wait to meet them in June!

There is even a quiz you can take to help determine your “color style”. Some of my favorite bloggers (and I’m sure yours too!) contribute to the Colortopia blog.
